In our latest update, we have fundamentally redesigned and simplified the process for creating activities. At the center is the completely redesigned form for creating activities, which now contains more features and lays the foundation for upcoming features, such as additional asset types or support for different currencies. The previous distinction between "Add Security" and "Add Activity" is now eliminated, which will particularly benefit new users. We have also expanded the search with additional features. Here we explain the changes in detail.
Redesigned Form for Adding Activities and Securities

The centerpiece of the latest update is the new form for adding activities and securities.
Adding Activities - Context-Based Throughout the Web App
Since manually creating activities will become more important in the future (e.g., to adjust cash balances), you can now add an activity from anywhere in the web app via the plus button at the bottom right of the screen. The form adapts to the context in which it is opened: For example, if you add an activity from the dividend dashboard, "Dividend" is automatically pre-selected as the activity type. If you add an activity from a security page, the corresponding security is automatically pre-filled.

Of course, you can still drag and drop settlement PDFs into the web app as usual - the new activity form will then open and inform you about the import status.
Add Security and Activity in One Step
Previously, when manually adding activities, a security had to be created first. Then, in a second step, an activity could be added for this security. This wasn't always clear, especially for new Parqet users, and was unnecessarily complex. This distinction is now eliminated, so when creating an activity, it automatically checks whether you already have the corresponding security in your portfolio. If not, the security is automatically added to your portfolio in the background.
When adding an activity, you can simply find the security for which you want to add an activity through the asset search. If a security is already in your portfolio, this is indicated with a green checkmark.
More Flexibility with Increased Clarity
Compared to the previous design, it was important to us that the new form is clearer while also containing more features for experienced users and upcoming functionalities. The most important fields like the activity type or date are immediately visible - advanced fields like taxes & fees or the now-enterable time can be shown when needed. Field visibility is saved in your profile, so you can customize the form to your needs.
The fields for price, shares, and total now also offer more flexibility. Using the sum symbol above the field, you can specify which of the three fields you want to calculate. For example, if you only have information about the shares and total sum, Parqet automatically calculates the share price.

For power users, we have also created the ability to quickly create multiple activities in succession. When saving an activity, you can choose to create more activities immediately. The activity is then created, but the fields are not cleared. This allows you to create multiple activities extremely quickly one after another. If you accidentally create a duplicate activity, there's an automatic warning that you can ignore if needed.

Zero-Click Import Now with Broker Guides
The zero-click PDF import is rightfully the most popular choice for adding activities. However, since it's not always clear to new users how and which PDFs can be imported, we have given the zero-click import its own section. There you'll also find links to explanations of how and which statements are supported, where to find them with individual brokers, and which brokers are supported.
For experienced users, not much changes - as mentioned, PDFs can still be dragged in from anywhere without opening the activity form.
Foundation for Additional Asset Types and Other Currencies
In addition to improved user-friendliness, the new activity form lays the foundation for supporting additional asset types (cash, crypto) and other currencies. For this reason, you already see the selection field for holding type, although only "Security" can currently be selected. We're making great progress and hope to provide support for cash and other asset types in the coming weeks.
Improved Search Results
As part of the redesign and laying the groundwork for upcoming features, we have also improved the security search. It now delivers much more relevant search results. Additionally, when opening the search, it no longer shows securities recently searched by all Parqet users by default, but securities that are in your portfolio.
We hope you like the new features and design of the activity form. Even if you've mainly used the zero-click import so far, you'll use the activity form from time to time with the upcoming new features. As always, we look forward to comments and feedback in the community post.
