In our latest update, we have fundamentally revised the infrastructure of our price data: Thanks to a partnership with gettex, we can now display price data in much better quality. gettex is a trading venue operated by Börse München, which is also used as a price source by Scalable Capital, for example.

Basically, it is very difficult for a start-up and developer to get a direct connection to a stock exchange. We're all the more pleased that this cooperation has come about 🎉

Over the last few weeks and months, the Parqet team has worked with support from gettex on a technical revision of the price data to enable this integration. As of now, Parqet processes several million price data points for more than 250,000 securities, which are available to you as a user at all points in Parqet. In addition, we will be able to make these prices accessible to other developers via an API in the medium term.

At the same time, completely new and much-desired feature possibilities are opening up. What this means for you as a user in detail can be read in the overview 👇

Technical Foundation for New Features: More Accurate Prices, Intraday Charts, Price Alerts and Much More

Through the partnership with gettex, all users now have access to much more stable and accurate prices than was recently the case. Especially with the recently sharply increased number of users, Parqet reached its own limits a few times. This was noticeable, for example, in the fact that price data was not displayed correctly. These problems should now be gradually resolved.

This technical revision of the infrastructure and cooperation with gettex also enables many new and exciting features, such as:

• 📈 Intraday Charts
• 📱 Price Alerts (e.g. as email or push notification for particularly strong price fluctuations)
• ⏰ Portfolio Value Alerts (e.g. when reaching a defined value)
• ⏱ Realtime Updates such as in the dashboard

These features and many others have now become much more tangible. Over the next few weeks and months, we will implement them one by one 🚀

gettex as the New Standard Trading Venue for All Users

As a first step, we will make gettex the standard trading venue for newly created securities in the coming days. We are convinced that constantly current and stable prices are one of the most important prerequisites for Parqet to create value for you as a user. In other words: A trading venue that delivers 100% correct data, where prices deviate in the cent range, is more useful than a trading venue that delivers prices accurate to the cent in 90% of cases, and prices delayed by hours or days in 10% of cases.

With gettex as the new standard trading venue, the trading venue selection will be restricted for users of the free plan. For users of the basic version, this means: From now on, the trading venue will be preset by Parqet and cannot be changed. As a rule, gettex will be selected as the trading venue here, which means that users of the free version will also benefit from the improved price quality. In cases where certain securities are not available on gettex (because, for example, they are only traded in dollars), Parqet automatically selects another trading venue.

For Plus and Investor subscribers, gettex will also be preset as the trading venue when creating securities, as this is where the best price quality is available. Unlike the free plan, the Plus and Investor plans still have the option to change the trading venue. In addition, it is now also possible to select from some non-euro trading venues if prices are available.

Switch for Existing Securities: Manually Immediately; Automatically Soon

Existing securities for which a trading venue other than gettex is currently entered will be automatically switched to gettex in the near future. For users who want to test the switch now, this can simply be done by editing the security. To do this, click on the corresponding security and then on "Edit Holding" in the upper right.

New Possibilities for the Future

This technical revision brings Parqet an important step forward, which will become even clearer in the coming weeks. As mentioned at the beginning, the cooperation with gettex enables us to develop many exciting new features.
